Belgium is a federal monarchy in Western Europe officially known as kingdom of Belgium. Belgium is famous for its cuisine, culture, two languages: Flemish and French and many more things. Belgium is a very fascinating place where tourists can have a good taste of adventure, food and people. Some of the best known things of Belgium are of great importance and cannot be missed.
Belgian chocolate
Belgian chocolate is chocolate produced in Belgium. Various brands provide Belgium chocolate but the Belgian is the most famous one. It provides chocolate of every type and mood. Chocolate plays an important part in Belgian’s economy and culture. There are over 2000 chocolatiers in Belgium. Varieties of chocolate like pralines, truffles are very popular in world.
Beer in Belgium
In Belgium beer varies from pale lager to lambic beer and Flemish red. Ranging from international giants to microbreweries, there are approximately 180 breweries in Belgium. Belgians are used to beers long before Belgium became an independent country since 1100. Varieties like scotch beer, table beer, champagne beer, saison etc are very popular in Europe.
The Manneken Pis
The mannekin pis is a small bronze sculpture in Brussels depicting a naked little boy urinating into a fountain's basin. This was designed by Hiëronymus Duquesnoy the Elder and put in place in 1618.
Waffles
Waffles are leavened batter cooked between two plates, patterned to give a particular size, shape and surface impression. There are many variations based on the type of waffle iron and recipe used. Throughout the world Waffles are eaten, particularly in Belgium with a dozen varieties.
Belgium is also excellent in sports like tennis, football and cycling. There are many more such amazing things for which Belgium is famous. Things like Brussels sprouts, mussels, saxophone, bicycle sprinters etc are lot to do and lot to eat. No one can get bored in kingdom of Belgium. Belgians claim that French fires were introduced in Belgium not in France. Comic books like the smurfs and tintin are also known for their extraordinary and amazing animation. Belgium makes Europe more powerful, proud and amazing for its crazy, crunchy and exciting things.
